Hurl gives me props, but no linkage

Friday, April 7th, 2006

Hurl called me out by name on the site, for wearing my favorite pants. No link, though. Between this and Lifehacker, I can feel my niche internet stardom on the rise…

CRC Coffee Bar/Cykel Garage was the defacto cycling knicker headquarters this a.m. Dan Steeves was wearing a pair of v1.0 Hypnotic Designs, The Wrexican was rocking the new Chrome Shins, and like a rabbit pulling something out of a hat, I was (and am still) feeling sartorial in the new Patagonia Night Train Knickers.

Panaracer Pasela Tourgard 700×28

Wednesday, March 29th, 2006

I rode these tires for 2 or 3 years on my fixed gear road bike, first the Falcon, then the IRO Mark V for almost a year. Definitely more than 2000 miles of commuting, maybe as much as 3. Wish I could remember when I bought them. It was after the MS 150, but was it that summer or a year later? I beat up the sidewalls pretty bad, had to patch one small tear with a dollar bill, that held fine for more than 6 months.

Just replaced them with the very similar Panaracer T-Serv Messenger (also 700×28). These feel nice. Buttery, if that makes sense for lousy late winter riding in Minneapolis.

Bike Buddy Minneapolis

Wednesday, February 15th, 2006

Gene-O-recommended Hiawatha Cyclery is talking about a Bike Buddy program. I volunteered. I’ve never been too successful encouraging new commuters; I think because I enjoy the “extreme” image of my year-round commuting and 1-car family. I hope this will have more impact.
